Job description
Work on resort property to perform a variety of work in the general maintenance and repair of buildings, rental villas and homes. Replacing faucets, ice makers, toilets and dishwashers. Troubleshoot electrical light fixtures, switches, and receptacles, exhaust fans, ceiling fans, water heaters and other appliances. Troubleshoot windows and doors including screen door track mechanisms, checking and repairing locks, repair hinges, capable of patching drywall and towel holders. Troubleshooting HVAC and analyze if it is simple items such as tripped breaker or if Service Company needs to be contacted. Ensures that buildings and equipment are maintained in a safe, clean and orderly condition in accordance with health and fire regulations. Maintains maintenance inventory records and files; prepares reports; monitors maintenance schedules to assure tasks are performed in a timely manner. Repairs and treats structures such as floors, showers, sinks, walls, roofs, stairways, and carpets. Troubleshoot, repair and adjust locks on doors, cabinets, desks, closets; repairs door hinges; cleans plugged key slots. Maintains hand and power tools in working condition; maintains and services kitchen and emergency equipment; installs fire extinguishers and maintains a service schedule. Contacts supervisor to arrange with appropriate outside agencies to schedule inspections, and moves or arranges for moving of furniture and equipment to requested site; performs other duties as assigned by management. Identifies plumbing problems; repairs and maintains plumbing leaks or breaks above and below ground; repairs and maintains appropriate functioning systems including sewer/supply lines and drains and fire sprinkler and suppression systems; replaces washers and other minor parts; maintains all underground water lines; maintains drinking fountains; repairs, replaces and maintains hot water heaters. Applies and prepares various surfaces for paint, enamel, lacquer, varnish or stain; repairs wall coverings.
Employer will offer 40 hours per week. Resort open 7 days a week, workdays vary Sunday through Saturday. Shift: 11:00 AM – 7 PM or 12:30 PM - 10:00 PM . Hours and shifts may vary with occupancy Must be able to work a 5-day work week schedule including weekends and holidays.
Special Requirements
No minimum education or experience required. Applicants must complete an employment application. Must have or be able to obtain valid U.S. Driver's License. Must be able to work at least 5-day work schedule, including weekends and holidays as required. Must be able to stand and bend repetitively during entire shift. Employer will offer 40 hours per week. Employer may increase wage based on experience, market conditions and/or provide additional pay for performance and tenure. Overtime may be available at wage rate $27.06 hour. An overtime premium will be paid when required by Federal, State, or local law, including at time-and-a-half after 40 hours per workweek. A single workweek will be used to compute wages due. Pay received bi-weekly. Employer will provide on-the-job training. Employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law and deduct approved cost of housing if worker elects. Optional employee shared housing, including utilities, approximate cost $150 per week. Daily transportation provided between employer housing and worksite at no cost to employee. Employer will provide worker at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform job. Required uniform provided at no cost to employee. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period. The employer will reimburse H2B workers in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees). If worker completes half the employment period, employer will arrange and pay directly for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the employment period or where the worker is dismissed early, the employer will provide or pay for workers reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a workers voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $14 per day during travel to a maximum of $59 per day with receipts. All transportation costs are to be preapproved. If necessary, employer will reimburse worker within first pay period for approved cost of meals and lodging at the applicable exchange rate, not to exceed reasonable costs. Receipts must be submitted.
