Job description
This is a secondary agricultural application to provide ground support for aerial application business. The worker will only work on employer owned and leased property within Northeast Arkansas. Duties will include: Fuel the airplane by connecting and disconnecting fuel hose to and from airplane, mix chemicals, read and understand a load ticket, load the airplane with chemical by connecting and disconnecting load hose to and from airplane, load airplane with fertilizer/seed by driving and operating heavy-duty manual transmission loader truck, drive water trucks to bring water to the satellite airstrips as needed, clean all equipment used daily, using a forklift to load and unload chemicals, mowing and maintaining airstrips and yard using a large tractor to pull a 15-20 foot mower/bush hog, spray weed killer around the airstrip and buildings, repair holes / washed out areas, and remove debris that collects on airstrip due to storms and wind. Other duties also include keeping hangar clean, regular maintenance of dry and liquid mixing equipment, washing the loader trucks and airplane every day as well as regular maintenance on the equipment such as tractors, lawnmowers and pickup trucks.
Special Requirements
Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire. Employer requires drug screen post-hire at employers expense due to the liability of driving trucks on public roads. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers expense due to the presence of children on the farm. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive walking is required. Frequent stooping is required. Repetitive movements is required. Overtime and taking holiday is mandatory. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
