Job description

Operate 100 hp tractors, other machinery and equipment, hand tools, chain saws and gardening tools to plant, fertilize, weed, cultivate, prune, spray, water, and harvest, fields, plants, and trees. Will operate equipment in farm fields and drive on farm roads. Dig, cut, sort, bundle and transplant seedlings, cuttings, trees and root balls. Will cut conifer boughs from trees. Will construct conifer wreaths of various sizes and shapes. Harvest pumpkins, apples, blueberries, hops or other small fruit. During harvest, apples injured by bruising during picking shall not exceed 1% (WNY) for fresh and 1% (WNY) for processing as defined in the U.S. standard for grades. Productivity must be at least 4-20 bushel bins fresh market and/or 6-20 bushel bins processing fruit per day. Workers must have experience working with production standards and must have experience in working with farm sanitary and safety practices as required in Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) plans. Will do pressing and processing of cider. Clean work areas, and maintain grounds and buildings. Much work will require extensive bending, stooping or stretching. Must be able to physically lift up to 80 pounds. Employer will furnish to workers, without cost, all tools and equipment required in the performance of the duties assigned. Workers should report for work with their own suitable work clothing. Field temperatures may range from 0 degrees to 90+ degrees F and work may be done in the rain, snow, mud, wind and sun. Due to health and safety concerns relating to pesticide application and the operation of equipment on our farm, workers are required to have the ability to comprehend simple instructions in English. After hiring, employer may conduct random drug tests at employer’s expense. Workers referred against this order must have a minimum of 3 months experience in performing the duties listed above.

b. The employer will provide 0 days of training for worker to reach production standards
c. Employer may require worker to perform any available general farm work if the guarantee referenced in Section 17a Additional Assurance for Clearance Orders is invoked.
d. Employer may terminate worker with timely notification to the NPC and DHS, if the worker: 1) Refuses, without cause, to perform work for which the worker was recruited and hired; 2) Commits serious acts of misconduct; 3) Fails to reach production standards; or 4) Abandons Job (Job Abandonment) is absent for five consecutive previously scheduled days without prior notification to employer.
