Job description
Performs duties like: drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store grain crops. Attach farm implements, such as disc, air seeder baler, and hay rake to tractor. Till soil; plant and cultivate grain. Operate self propelled sprayer to apply pesticides to crops. Operate self-propelled hay cutter, baler, and hay rake. Operate ATV and/or UTV to repair fences. Operate GPS systems in equipment. Operate lawn mower. Tow harvesting equipment. Drive and operate self-propelled combine. General lubrication, service (check fluids) and mechanical repair to farm machinery. Drive grain trucks/semi to transport crops to elevator or storage area. Perform other general farm labor duties. Crops: Alfalfa, Canola, Durum, Grain, Hay, Lentils, Small Grain, Spring WheatEquipment: Quad Trac tractor, loader tractors, air seeder, tillage equipment, baler, hay rake, skid steer, self propelled sprayer, self propelled hay cutter, side by side, four-wheeler, GPS, semi, grain truck, augers, pick-up, trailers
Special Requirements
Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Employer requires drug screen post-hire at employers' expense due to the liability of driving trucks on public roads. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers' expense due to the presence of children on the farm and expensive tools and equipment. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Extensive sitting is required. Extensive walking is required. Frequent stooping is required. Repetitive movements is required. Overtime and taking holiday is mandatory. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
