Job description
Workers will assist in three main areas on a farm for a farmer, this includes wet/dry fertilizer application, anhydrous ammonia, and apply ag lime.
During the application portion of the job workers will: Mix dry fertilizer, wet fertilizer, or anhydrous ammonia, load truck with fertilizer or
anhydrous ammonia as well as load spraying equipment including spray applicators, tractors, and any safety equipment needed to handle
the materials.
Once arriving on the farm site workers, will unload all necessary equipment and materials and fertilizer or anhydrous ammonia
with a fertilizer sprayer, floater, or tractor.
During down time some shop maintenance, grounds maintenance, tractor/sprayer maintenance such as oil changes or tire changes might be needed. During
down time assist with dumping, unloading, loading grain trucks, and assisting in grain facility operations. Workers will clean up spilled corn, assist trucks load and
unload, general maintenance of the headquarters, and ensuring systems operate properly.
Special Requirements
Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Pesticide licensure is required and will be provided at no cost to the worker. Must
be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Employer requires drug screen post-hire at employers' expense due to
the liability of operating expensive equipment. Failure to pass drug screen will result in termination of employment.Lift and carry
items weighing up to 60 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Overtime and taking holiday is mandatory.
Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in
addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
