Job description

Workers will perform various duties associated with sorting and cleaning harvested corn. Workers will load and unload bins, operate various farm equipment, and dump green corn. Workers will sort and remove damaged and infected seeds. Workers will assist in filling and monitoring dryers. Workers will be responsible for shed clean up including destroying waste material. Workers will process the removal of seed kernels from the ear of corn via shelling machine.
Farm Equipment Operation During Field Operations: Workers will be required to operate tractors, forklifts, and other farm equipment as an incidental activity in the production of crops. Before any worker is required to operate any farm equipment, the worker will be instructed in the proper and safe operation of tractor. Workers will be required to operate tractors according to instructions and in a manner that protects the operator, other workers, crops, and equipment. Workers may be requested to perform minor and routine maintenance on farm vehicles and equipment. Repeated failure to obey operating and safety instructions may result in termination.
Workers must also work the following duties and or equipment’s, green corn dumps, husking bed operator, bin fill (dryer roofs), Bin unload day, bin unload night, and general labor.
Farm, Field, and Camp Maintenance: All workers will be responsible for picking up trash, cleaning bathrooms, sweeping floors and other farms, kitchen and camp cleaning and maintenance.
Properly licensed workers may be requested to transport workers. Properly trained and qualified workers may be chosen as team leaders.
Employer is a drug-free workplace. Drug testing is conducted post-hire at the employer's expense and is not part of the interview process. Negative results are required before starting work.
Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. Duties may vary from time to time. Workers will be trained in the proper field and shed sanitation. Workers must always follow field sanitation requirements. Not following these requirements are cause for Discipline and/or Termination:
Workers are expected to possess the skills to work in the production of crops listed in this job order. The introductory period for all crop activities is 2 days starting with the first day of employment to acclimate the worker to the physical demands of farm work and to familiarize workers with job specifications and to demonstrate proper methods and other crop specific issues.
Workers must adhere to all safety rules as instructed by the supervisor. Workers must take care to handle tools, equipment, and crops in a manner to avoid injury or damage. The employer will comply with all Federal, State, and local safety requirements.
Operational specifications can change during the season due to crop or market conditions. Workers will be expected to conform to the specific instructions given for each day's work. Instructions and general supervision will be provided by the employer or a designated employee. Workers will have close supervision to ensure adherence to instructions.
Work will be closely monitored and reviewed for quality. Daily individual work assignments, crew assignments and location of work will be made by the employer or designated employee as the needs of the operation dictate. Workers may be assigned a variety of duties in any given day and different tasks on different days.
The employer will provide the tools necessary to perform the described job duties without charge to the worker. The employer will charge the worker for reasonable costs related to the worker's refusal or negligent failure to return the tools or due to such worker's willful damage or destruction of the tools.
Workers must adhere to all safety rules as instructed by the supervisor. Workers must take care to handle tools, equipment and produce in a manner to avoid injury or damage. The employer will comply with all federal, state, and local safety requirements.

Special Requirements

Must be physically able to meet and perform all job specifications stated in job order. Must be able to work in the hot humid weather for extended periods of time. Workers are subject to random drug testing at no cost to the employee. Failing or refusing a drug test will result in immediate termination.
