Job description
This application encompasses: Wholesale nursery work with landscape trees, shrubs and perennials.
This job requires 3 months experience of general farm labor experience.
The lifting requirement for this position is 50 pounds.
Workers will get an unpaid 30 minute lunch break and one paid 20 minute break.
Fall harvest work begins with trimming trees, shrubs and perennials (hence referred to as plants). Workers will move container plants to locations and plants will be made ready for winterization. The plants are laid over; covered with straw and sheets of white plastic. The edges of the plastic are secured with PVC pipe with rebar stakes driven into the ground with mallets. The sheets of plastic are further secured with string, tires or cinder blocks.
May use hand tools, such as shovels, pruning shears, and hedge trimmers. Duties may include moving container plants, transplanting, planting, potting, pruning, trimming, staking, digging, and harvesting nursery stock in the field, weed removal with a hoe.
Workers may also operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production and field preparation such as tractors, irrigation equipment and other commonly used equipment in agriculture and drive vehicles to transport farm workers, crops or equipment.
Workers may clear debris from fields and clean/maintain farm buildings, structures, equipment, and work areas.
All other duties assigned under this order will be those duties of Farm Worker and Laborer Crop, Nursery and Greenhouse, under the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Employment Statistics Standard Occupational Classification Code 45-2092.

Per 20 CFR 655.135 (j), The employer and its agents have not sought or received payment of any kind from any employee subject to 8 U.S.C. 1188 for any activity related to obtaining H-2A labor certification, including payment of the employer's attorneys' fees, application fees, or recruitment costs. For purposes of this paragraph, payment includes, but is not limited to, monetary payments, wage concessions (including deductions from wages, salary, or benefits), kickbacks, bribes, tributes, in kind payments, and free labor.
This provision does not prohibit employers or their agents from receiving reimbursement for costs that are the responsibility and primarily for the benefit of the worker, such as government-required passport, or visa fees. Worker will be reimbursed should the worker receive a visa and arrive at the place of work.
