Job description
Job duties include the operation of various farm equipment to till land, harvest crops, and haul crops to the storage area. Equipment that employees will operate includes but is not limited to combines, grain cart, semi-trucks, tractors with various implements attached, hopper bottom trailer, tilling equipment, and drying equipment. Employees will handle grain, load and unload semi-trucks as needed, and logging loads into and out of the facility. Manual duties include maintenance on equipment including greasing, fueling, and basic repairs to keep the machine operational; basic repairs and maintenance of augers/belts; checking moisture; calibrating dryer, checking storage capacity; power washing equipment; equipment repairs; cleaning the shop and grain facility; fueling trucks, tractors, and combine; greasing combine; grain cart greasing fittings; grain facility power washing dryer tower; sweeping around unload/load out areas; repairing/replacing belts; and climbing legs and bins for maintenance. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or locations often and engage in various general functions. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, and field conditions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.
Special Requirements
Job requires having or being able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire. Basic English literacy and math skills are required. Job will require periods when workers may be exposed to varying weather conditions and extensive sitting or walking. Random drug testing and criminal background checks may occur post-hire at the employers expense. These checks may be performed to ensure a safe housing and work environment for all workers.
