Job description
Conducts all activities related to the operations of Food & Beverage, as it relates to the Front of the House, by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
1. Adhere to established rules and regulations of the Plantation while working scheduled shifts.
2. Maintain highest level of service for Food & Beverage service areas.
3. Maintain highest level of cleanliness and good repair of all dining rooms, service work stations, dining utensils, equipment and glassware including common and storage areas.
4. Follow all guidelines in the clubhouse service procedure handbook, including instructions on table setting, order taking and sequence of service.
5. Ensure knowledge of Plantation information (hours of operation, upcoming events, etc.).
6. Maintain positive attitude with all staff and members. Greet all Members by name when possible. Maintain eye contact and use proper vocabulary when speaking with Members. Avoid all negative comments.
7. Maintain a well groomed appearance and proper cleaned, pressed uniform at all times.
8. Advise supervisory staff of any complaints immediately.
9. Knowledge of all menu items, daily/monthly specials, wine list, preparation methods, ingredients and garnish.
10. Complete all daily side duty assignments.
11. Set-up and tear-down all dining and buffet tables for banquet/club functions, to include moving of furniture, chairs and tables.
12. Knowledge of role during emergency situations. Aware of fire and life safety procedures.
13. Knowledge of POS system. Able to open/close checks and use this system to successfully communicate food orders to the kitchen in a timely manner. Update daily special information. Produce daily reports and evening closing reports. Have a working knowledge of Credit Card procedures.
14. Have the ability to execute all service types successfully, i.e.; Russian, French, American Banquet, etc.
15. Possess a competent knowledge of wines and spirits. Stay current with wine and bar trends and South Carolina laws.
16. Secure Clubhouse at the end of business day according to procedures.
17. Anticipate and comply with Member’s needs by providing them with immediate attention.
18. Perform other duties as assigned.
Special Requirements
At least three (3) months related experience or training in fine dining, private club, resort or hotel environment; other related server experience will be considered.
One (1) to Three (3) years related experience and/or training in fine dining atmosphere: and working knowledge of wine, spirits and food or equivalent combination of education and experience
