Job description

Job requires workers to provide supervision to crew members in the farm laborer/hand harvester position and assure jobs are completed in accordance with company policies, report any issues to upper management, & inspect produce for quality control. Workers will be assigned to harvest crews during the harvest season. Workers must be familiar with Employer Food & Safety policies, and work rules for Farm laborer/hand harvester position. Workers must identify and address any violations of employment policies. Workers will be required to assist farm laborers with clocking in-out using a tablet or smart phone. Workers will be required to report any farm laborer worker absences or separations from employment and employer immediately. Workers will be required to communicate with other supervisors/drivers and farm management. Workers will be required to obtain FLCE Driver authorized cards necessary to transport workers to worksites and obtain necessities under Dunson Harvesting's FLC license. The employer will require workers to drive in Employer provided vehicles to and from worksites. Workers must have a valid drivers license. Workers must understand and agree to driving rules, as outlined in work rules, and must provide proof of no infractions from official source. Workers may be required to operate farm vehicles to move around in fields and farm blocks. Employer provides instructions and supervisors will be responsible for communicating instructions to workers. Supervisors must review worker production reports to ensure harvesters have conformed to standard totals set daily. Workers will be responsible for providing harvesting crew with necessary water supply and work tools, if necessary. Harvest supervision requires extensive walking throughout the day and frequent stooping/bending. Workers will be required to consistently check crop containers throughout the day to verify compliance with quality standards. Workers must be able to identify any bruising or other damage, and check produce size, color, and grade. Workers will be responsible for communication standards to harvesting crew to work more efficiently, if necessary. Workers may be required to scan badges and containers throughout the day to track produce and harvest productivity during the crop season. Workers will be required to accurately enter company and harvester information, price, variety, and block codes into handheld scanner. At the end of the day, workers may be required to connect scanners to computer system in order to upload data to the main office. Workers will be required to properly store scanning equipment. Workers will supervise the following activities: runner cutting/trimming, freeze protection activities, drip tape hook -up, planting, weeding, plastic/drip tape removal, strawberry harvesting, blueberry harvesting, citrus harvesting, bell pepper harvesting, lug washing, and general farm labor. All of these activities are hand harvester positions listed on Addendum C.

Special Requirements

Dunson Harvesting Inc. is a drugfree workplace and has a zero-tolerance policy for drug and alcohol in the workplace and in the employer-provided housing. Background checks and drug testing will be conducted post-hire at employer's expense due to safety concerns for employees in the field and also due to housing employees together. Drug testing may be done post-accident and randomly for cases with valid reasons of suspicion.
